Thankful Thursday

"I will praise God's name and glorify Him with thanksgiving." Psalm 69:30

My daughter's laugh that lifts my heart.

My husband's love for me and for my daughter.

My husband's dedication to being present and active at home while working and studying in med school.

My new home in Grenada that is so much more comfortable and safe.

My wonderful messy dogs that like to chase our fruit thieves and give us warm wet sloppy right across the nose.

The pool that cools us off in this crazy heat.

For air conditioning in the bedrooms.

For the gift of every moment with my daughter.

For cuddles and snuggles, kisses and hugs, stories and songs with my little buggy.

For my Father in heaven whose grace is always overflowing.

With Great Sadness

My heart is so full of sadness for the Chapman family. Their 5 year old daughter from China, Maria Sue, was killed this past week when she was struck by a car driven by their son. I cannot imagine the pain and grief this family has right now. My heart goes out to their son who needs our prayers in a special way. Please lift them all in your prayers. I pray for God's healing and comforting arms to wrap around each one and lift them in His hope.

I know that so many in the adoption community have been inspired and touched by the passion, sincerity and commitment of the Chapmans to adoption. I remember the moment at SCC's concert 6 years ago when he told his family's journey to Shaoey and the gospel of adoption. It was a powerful life changing moment for me.

Now is the time to give back to them what they have given to so many by lifting them in prayer and remembering them not just in these moments but the many to come when they will need the knowledge that many are praying on their behalf.

If you would like to meet Maria Sue Chapman or leave a message for the Chapman family, here is a link with a little video of her and her daddy.
