After a Crazy Adventure of Preparation, It is Finally Take Off!

We left for our trip to China and our final leg of a long long journey to get our Sweet Emma. Our flight left at 5:30 for Seattle and we are now preparing for the long day of flying to Hong Kong tomorrow. Bags are packed with all the essentials only and they are still bursting at the seams. How is that even possible? I don't know! Also, why am I not in bed? Because I promised to blog. Today. Without excuse. So, here is the journey in a nutshell:

4 days in Hong Kong give us plenty of time to take in the sights we missed last time and get a little rest. Then, we fly to Changsha on the 17th prepare to meet our sweet baby and I don't sleep all night due to sheer anticipation. Our family day is the 18th when Emma finally is in our arms. Adoption day follows along with a few more days of paperwork, bonding time, and then, it is off to Guangzhou for the final leg of the journey, the visit to the consulate.

Gracie is recording all her miles because after all our papers are finalized, stamped, approved and we are ready to fly home, we are taking one last journey...to the Great Wall, the REAL Great Wall and she is going to walk those last few miles of her "Walk to the Great Wall" with her sister. She is pretty excited about that!

It is time to go to bed because tomorrow, is a long long day and yes, I have checked and double checked my checklist. We are good to go!

Congratulations! So excited for you as you travel to meet you sweet Emma. My precious daughter was also born in Hunan so I can picture the room where you will meet your Emma! Cannot wait to celebrate that day with you! Hope you're having a great time in Hong Kong!
